After graduating from Columbia University’s Teachers College in 1998 with a Master’s degree in Educational Psychology, I began my career in education at South School in New Canaan, Connecticut.  I initially served as a classroom teacher, then as a reading specialist for the school.  In my role, I worked with struggling readers, one-on-one and in small groups, served on the school’s child-study team, and trained classroom teachers in the psychology of language, learning, and reading.  In addition, my role included quarterly sessions dedicated to educating parents on the acquisition of language and literacy.  I also served as a member of the Tri-State Consortium, a group of educators dedicated to external peer review for the advancement of teaching and learning.

In 2018, upon returning to Connecticut from Florida, I was hired to teach Reading and Language Arts (called Tutorial) at Eagle Hill School, a nationally recognized school for students with language-based learning disabilities.  At the school, I brought into daily instruction the Orton-Gillingham approach partnered with many techniques tailored to remediate the underlying deficit areas of the learning capabilities of my students. I now use my many years of training and experience to help Fairfield and Westchester families with educational therapy, testing, and consulting for students with specific learning disabilities.

I am a mom, a wife, a sailor, a dog-lover, and a lifelong learner who seeks to continually grow in my knowledge and practice. I attend yearly training and conferences in the areas of educational psychology, educational therapy, and approaches to reading. In addition, I am continually reading and researching best practices in pedagogy and curriculum development.  I currently work as a Literacy Specialist at New Lebanon School, an elementary school in Greenwich, Connecticut.

My husband Jay and I live in Riverside, Connecticut with our three children, all of whom attend the Greenwich Public Schools.
