Formal Education

With a BA in English and a BS in Elementary Education, I decided to continue my pursuit of higher education. I completed a master’s degree from Teachers College, Columbia University in Applied Educational Psychology specializing in reading and reading disabilities. In addition, I have completed over 30 graduate credit hours beyond my master’s in reading, psychology, and school counseling.

Certifications

I have dual teaching certification in the states of Connecticut and Florida with professional certificates in both Elementary Education (K-6) and Remedial Reading and Language Arts (K-12). In addition, I am an NILD Professionally Certified Educational Therapist and CERI / IDA Certified Structured Literacy & Dyslexia Specialist, the highest level of certification awarded by CERI and the International Dyslexia Association.

Accreditation & Affiliations

While there are several educational therapy training programs, only the National Institute for Learning Development Educational Therapy training is accredited by the International Dyslexia Association. To learn more about IDA’s accreditation model, click here.
